Conference Wide Super, Laura [1], Singh, Santokh [1]. Undergraduate Research at UBC: Plant Science Students in Action. This interactive workshop will facilitate discussion on undergraduate research, with a focus on plant science students, at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Attendees will be encouraged to participate throughout the workshop. An interactive powerpoint presentation, group discussions, and supporting visuals will allow participants to investigate and collaborate on different topics. For example: ways to foster undergraduate researchers; how undergraduate research can be polished for presentations or publications; student-driven support for undergraduate research; and future directions of undergraduate research at UBC. In addition to guided discussion, there will be time allotted for an open-ended discussion period. Furthermore, innovative research programs for plant science students in institutes other than UBC will be discussed. This will allow workshop participants to investigate the scope of research for plant science students.
