Conference Wide Barkworth, Mary [1]. Building a National Virtual Herbarium through Collaboration. A national virtual herbarium that presents information derived from links to specimens in all the nation's herbaria would be a valuable resource for individuals in many areas and a powerful tool for demonstrating the value of herbaria and taxonomic knowledge. The purpose of this workshop is to identify short and long term goals for developing such a resource and mechanisms for achieving these goals. Topics to be discussed include, but are not limited to, database requirements, georeferencing, methods of speeding up data entry, whether or not to use a common taxonomic treatment for particular groups and, if so, open and transparent mechanisms for selecting a treatment. Suggestions of other topics should be submitted to the WDC012 table in the exhibit hall. Log in to add this item to your schedule
