Flora of Uludag Mountain (Bursa-Turkey).

This study consists of the flora of Uludag Mountain which is located in the southeast of Bursa province. A total of 6500 plant specimens were collected from the research area between 30. 02. 1999 and 04. 11. 2007. An identification of these specimens 102 families, 488 genera and 1308 taxa (886 species, 127 subspecies, 130 varieties and 5 hybrids) were determined. 30 taxa belong to Pteridophyta division, 1278 taxa belonging to Spermatophyta division. Gymnosperm subdivision has 11 taxa, Angiosperm subdivision has 1267 taxa, from which 1061 taxa and 206 taxa belong to Dicotyledon and Monocotyledon respectively. The distribution of the taxa according to the phytogeographical regions and their rates; Euro-Siberian elements 248 (18.96 %), Mediterranean elements 152 (11.62 %), Irano-Turanian Elements 50 (3.82 %) and multiregional or unknown originated 858 (65.60 %). The number of endemic taxa is 169 and the rate of endemism is % 12.92. The families containing abundant taxa are Asteraceae (173), Fabaceae (94), Lamiaceae (79), Poaceae (79), Brassicaceae (69) and Scrophulariaceae (65) respectively. The largest genera are Veronica L. (19), Verbascum L. (18), Ranunculus L., Hypericum L. (17) and Ornithogalum L. (16). During this study, three new taxa which belong to Paeonia L., Prometheum (A. Berger) H. Ohba and Crepis L. genera, was identified and prepared in order to be introduced to the world of science. The presence of the Cirsium eriophorum (L.) Scop. which has given as doubtful records in Turkey was confirmed and Dactylorhiza maculata (L.) SoĆ³ subsp. maculata was given a new record for the Flora of Turkey. Moreover at the end of the study, 82 taxa were found as new floristic records in total. One taxon is a new record for A2 and B2 squares, 68 taxa for A2 and 13 taxa for B2 are new records.
